Roy Anderson CD, FCIArb.
The Honourable Justice Anderson (Retired) is a former judge of the Supreme Court of Jamaica and the Revenue Court. He is a graduate of the University College of the West Indies, Mona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of London. He also holds Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from the University of London, and a Master of Laws degree in International and Comparative Law, from the Georgetown University Law Centre in Washington D.C.
He has been called to the Bars of England and Wales, New York, Jamaica and Grenada, and was invited to the Supreme Court Bench in Jamaica in 2001. Justice Anderson has wide experience in various areas of law, and once served as a diplomat in the Jamaica’s Foreign Service.
Since retiring from the Jamaican Supreme Court Bench, Justice Anderson, who is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Certified Mediator, has worked in arbitration and mediation. In 2015, the Jamaican Government conferred upon him a National Honour, the Order of Distinction, Commander Class (C.D.)
Justice Anderson teaches Insurance Law and Revenue Law at the Faculty of Law at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies. He enjoys singing, which is one of his main hobbies, and enjoys watching a good game of cricket. Justice Anderson is married to Marjorie and is the father of four children.
