Rose Rameau

Rose Rameau, FCIArb

Ms Rameau is a Partner at the RAMEAU International Law in Washington DC. She is a leading practitioner and a Former Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Professor in the field of International Arbitration. As a Fulbright Scholar, she taught Investment and International Commercial Arbitration, General Principles of Arbitration as well as Contemporary Issues in International Arbitration at the University of Ghana School of Law from 2014-2016. In addition, Ms Rameau was an Adjunct Professor at the Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II), and Université Paris Est Créteil (Paris12). There, she taught fundamentals of the English and American legal systems, as well as international business law. She was recently appointed by Haiti at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague.

Ms. Rameau is trained in both civil and common law. As an international Arbitrator and Practitioner, she represents host States and investors in investment disputes and has been appointed Sole Arbitrator in commercial disputes involving Africans and Foreign Nationals. She is a Fellow at the Charted Institute of Arbitrators in the UK. Ms. Rameau was the Vice-Chair of the Africa Committee and the International Energy and Natural Resources Committee of the ABA International Law Section for four years and was recently awarded the ABA Section of International Law 2020 Mayre Rasmussen Award for the Advancement of Women in International Law.

She is listed as arbitrator at the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), the Kigali International Arbitration Center (KIAC), the Chambre de Conciliation et D’Arbitrage d’Haiti (CCAH), the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre (BVI-IAC), the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration of OHADA, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (CCJA) and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA.) .

Ms. Rameau is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana and is an ICC Court Member on behalf of Haiti and the ICC Commission on International Arbitration and its Task Force “Addressing Issues of Corruption in International Arbitration.” She is licensed to practice law in Paris-France, Republic of Ghana, and USA (District of Columbia, New Jersey and Florida). She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Creole.
